One Price Deal-
A. What are the One Price deals?
For 2008, we have 3 packages to enter DDA Grand Nationals!
Package 1: Registration
Fee, Supreme Package,
2 Talent Events,
Grand Talent,
1 Extra Modeling,
1 Extra Photo Events,
All Supreme Titles,
All Overall Titles. $1640 Value, for $1195*. (if pay $250 by 5/1, it is $995.(this is with the Earlybird discount))
Package 2: Registration
Fee, Supreme Package,
1 Extra Modeling,
1 Extra Photo Event,
3 of 6 Supreme Titles,
3 of 7 Overall Titles
. $1165 Value, for $795. (if pay $250 by 5/1, it is $595*.(this is with the Earlybird discount))
Package 3: Registration
Fee, Supreme Package,
1 Extra Modeling,
3 of 7 Overall Titles. $890 Value, for $595*. (if pay $250 by 5/1, it is $395. (this is with the Earlybird discount))
*To get this deal you must pay the deposit by 5/15/2008. If you use the deal that counts as your discount, and you can still get your early bird discount if you enter by 5/1.
Dont forget the supreme package includes a talent or Modeling event and a photo event.
B. Can I Still Get the Early Bird if I use the One price package?
Yes! Package 1 without the earlybird is 1195, if you turn in a 250 deposit by 5/1, you can still have the 200 earlybird discount (so the package is now 995). Package 2 without the earlybird is 995, if you turn in a 250 deposit by 5/1, you can still have the 200 earlybird discount (so the package is now 795). Package 3 without the earlybird is 595, if you turn in a 250 deposit by 5/1, you can still have the 200 earlybird discount (so the package is now 395).
C. If I enter other events, or other titles do I need to pay that in full to be able to get the package deal?
No. You just need to have the amount of the package you entered paid by the 15th.
D. I can not pay a deposit by 5/1, can i still get the package price?
Yes, Package 1 is 1195, 2 is 995 and 3 is 595. You just can not get the earlybird discount.
E. I have other discounts can I use them with the package?
No. The package counts as your discount. BUT -- You can still use the earlybird discount if you qualify.
F. Do I have to enter the package?
No. You can use the discount you have and enter the regular way. You do not have to use a package.
G. I entered one of the Deals that came in the email, can you tell me what was in those deals?
Sure! Below is a side by side comparison of what is in each package.
H. Can I still enter the Sweet Deal, Leap Year, or Irish Deal ?
No I am sorry, deadlines for those have passed.
I.Can I use a package price and my mini national discount?
No I am sorry, a package price counts as a discount... and you can only use 1 discount plus 1 early bird when entering the pageant.
J. How does Package Plus work?????
If you enter by 5/1/08, you can add in addition to your package (or non package entry) either Unlimited photos in 1 photo event ($100 value) or 1 extra photo or modeling event ($75 value).
TICKETS for drawings
A. How do I get tickets for the drawings?
You get them in 2 ways:
1. By turning in your deposit, you get tickets for the drawings.
Turn in your deposit in by:
4/28 and you get 100 Tickets.
Between April 29th - May 1st - 75 Tickets
After May 1st- 10 Tickets
2. You get get 10 tickets for ever $100 in entry fees paid.
For example, if you turn your deposit in on 4/27 and you pay $700 in entry fees you get 100 + 70 or 170 tickets.
B. What is in the drawings?
We have 6 different Drawings:

C. Can I enter more than 1 drawing?
Sure, you can put put your tickets into what ever basket you like!!!
D. When is the Drawing?
During Crowning. You MUST be present to win!!!!
E. When Do I get the tickets and pick where to put them?
At registration.
F. I turned my deposit in by 5/1/08, but now I cant come. Can I still be in the drawing
No, you have to be present to win.
G. Can I win more than 1?
It is possible!!!!

Judging/scoring Questions
2. Who are the judges?
A - We will have 8 highly qualified judges from all over the country.
3. Are all events scored by one panel of Judges?
A- No. Talent, American Doll Wear , Beauty and Pro-am are scored by a set of judges. Swim wear, Casual Wear, Anything Goes 1 and 2 and Photos are scored by a Second panel.
4. My Daughter does not pro-am, will this hurt her?
A- No. They are judged on how well they do what they do on that stage at that time. Plus this year we have swim wear and casual wear as there own category (plus you can do non pro-am routines in Anything Goes 1 and 2)
5. My Daughter does not have Designer clothes, will this hurt her?
A- No. They are judged on how well the outfit looks on them, on that stage, at that moment in time. As long as it fits them, and looks good on them, it doesn't mater who designed it.
6. Does 0-3 Get judged on Modeling Ability?
A- 0-2 Is judged on Personality. 3 Year group is either Modeling or Personality. 4 and up is Modeling.
7. How does the supreme score work?
A- The Supreme Score (which is used for Grand Supreme, Mini Supreme, Novice Supreme, Divisional Supreme, and Divisional Novice Supreme)Is your Beauty Event Score plus Your Highest Photo Event Score plus your Highest Optional Event score. Our 5 Photo events are : Color Photo, Black and White Photo, Natural Photo, Comp Card and Portfolio. The highest score of those 5 will go into your supreme score. Do you have to enter all 5, No. You only have to enter 1 (which comes in the supreme package), but the more you enter the better your chances of a higher score.
Our Optional Events are American Doll Wear, Talent, Swim Wear, Casual Wear, Pro-Am, and Anything Goes. We offer multi talents, and 2 Anything Goes. The highest of those 8 scores goes into your Supreme score.
*** The Ultimate Grand Score this year is Beauty plus 2 Photo Events and 2 Optional events. ****
8. If I enter 6 Color Photos are they all judged or just 1?
A- The way our judges judge the photo event is each judge picks there favorite of the 6 you turned in and judge that one. The one they pick has a dot on the back of it. That way you get the highest score possible. Each judge could pick the same photo, or they could all have different favorite photos.
Schedule
9. What is the schedule?
We do not make the schedule until a week before nationals. Registration is all day Thursday. Competition begins on Friday - Talent, Swim Wear, Casual Wear, Pro-Am, and American Doll Wear. Saturday competition will included Beauty, Anything Goes 1 and Anything Goes 2 with the Doll Party Saturday night. Sunday- Crowning should begin about 9am.
10. What time will crowning be over?
A - It should be over by 3pm-4Pm.
Events
11. What color does American Doll Wear have to be?
A - Can be red, white, and/or blue.
12. What is acceptable for American Doll Wear?
Anything!!! Be creative!! Have and Fun!! You can bring your own music.
13. How Many Anything Goes Events can I do?
A: You can do up to 2. But this year we also have Casual Wear, Swim Wear, and Pro-Am----as individual events.
14. Can I wear a 2 piece swimsuit for Swim Wear or Anything Goes?
A: Yes, please make sure it is tasteful.
Discounts
15. How can I win fees off?
A - There are a few ways still left. 1. In a photo contest (Next Photo Contest Deadline is 5/15) 2. In a Guestbook Drawing (we have weekly) 3. Why I want to be a Darling Doll Contest 4. Package Prices.
16. Will there be any more guestbook drawings?
A: Yes, We will have guestbook drawings weekly until the final deadline to enter.
17. I have a Guestbook Discount, Photo Contest Discount, State Discount, Why I want to be a Darling Doll Discount, and an Early Bird Discount. Can I use all 5 discounts?
A: No. You can use the highest of the following 4 (Guestbook Discount, Photo Contest Discount, State Discount, Why I want to be a Darling Doll Discount), and the Early Bird Discount when entering the pageant.
18. Can I still get the Early Bird Discount?
A - Yes, the early bird deadline is 5/1/2008 ** Dont miss it!!. This
will not be extended for anyone for any reason. Please do not ask. We
want to be fair to everyone. To received the earlybird discount ALL
your information has to be postmarked or received by email/paypal by the
deadline date. After this date, Early bird will not be honored.
19. If I miss the Early Bird discount, can I use another discount in its place?
A- No, I am sorry. You can use your highest discount, plus one Early Bird. If the deadline has passed, you can not replace that discount.
19a. Do you have a sibiling Discount
A-Yes pay one in full price (you can use discounts or packages and EB) and each additional child is only 1/2 -- equal or lesser value. Example. Child 1 is doing package 1 for 995, and child 2 is doing package 3 for 395. your total fees are $995 + (1/2 of $395) or $1,192.50
Recompete/Royalty Questions
20. Can Mini National royalty reign?
A - We don't have the Mini National royalty reign at Nationals because we try to
make it very special for the National Royalty with the Build A Bear
trip, etc. We would love to see the Mini National royalty at the prelims and Mini National Pageants!!
21. My daughter won a National Title last year, but we are going to recompete her this year, can she still go to the Royalty Parties and get the Royalty Gifts?
A- No, If she chooses to recompete, then she is in competition during the pageant.
22. Who can recompete?
A- Anyone can recompete except Ultimate Grand, Grand Supreme, Ultimate Beauty, and Mini Supremes. Any National Royalty can Reign, but the top 10 titles, can not recompete in the current Nationals.
Misc Questions.
23. When's the deadline to register?
A - May 31st Is is very last Day to enter.
24. Where do I get a windsuit from?
A - Contact Luane at luane@wcnet.net
25. Can I choose my place in lineup?
A - We do our best to accommodate your request but we can't guarantee
and no changes will be made once line up is determined.
26. Can I change Age groups?
A- We would prefer you let us know ASAP if you need to change your age group. No changes will be made after May 31st.
27. Can you tell me how many are in my age group?
A- No, I am afraid not. Since numbers are always changing, we just do not give out that information.
28. Can I change events, titles, or add pictures?
A- yes you can do what ever you like at Registration.
29. Do you recommend a particular Hair and Makeup person?
A- No. We think our vendors are all great! Click here for a list of Vendors If you have not ever used them, ask for pictures of other clients, so you can get an idea of what to expect.
30. Do you pro-rate?
A- No.
31. I am not from Texas, will that hurt my daughters chance of getting a title?
A- No. We have National royalty from all over the country.
32. When will I know if you have everything I sent in?
A- We will be sending out conformation emails letting you know if we have everything, or if we are missing a piece of information.
33. Do I have to bring 3 Gifts to registration?
A- No, We have plenty of gifts for everyone :)

34- Do you double Crown?
A- Yes and no. We only Double Crown Cover Girl, Print Model, and Sweetheart (ad sales).

A- Sure.

A- DFW is very close to our hotel. Our Hotel will even pick you up if you fly into DFW. Contact the Hotel for more information
Royalty Questions
37. Where do I get Cheerleading outfits?
All you have to do is call 1-800-411-4105, You have to tell them you are with Darling Dolls of America and use this Sales Order # 96075 to make sure you are getting the correct uniform and lettering.
The Prices for the outfit is follows:
The uniform and lettering - Top and Skirt is $101.95,
Red Turtleneck ½ top - $19.95 ,
Red Briefs - $8.95 ,
Socks - $2.95 ,
Hair Bows - can be ordered from the DDA Store through Luane - Her email is Luane@wcnet.net Email her for more information on bows.
This outfit is by no means mandatory, but worked really well last year as a crowning outfit (for the Mini National pageants as well as Nationals) and during the day(s) of competition. The girls really liked them last year. Please let us know if you have any questions.
38. Do I have to have a cheerleading outfit?
A- No you do not have to have one. Alot of the girls will have them on at Crowning.
39. I am going for Queen of Queens, when do I turn that in?
A- Please Turn you book in at Registration.
40. I havent told anyone I am reigning yet, Who do I contact?
Contact Judy at jamesj@aafes.com . She needs out Short Size, Short Size, Headshot and Speech. Note that the shorts and shirt run
a little small.
41. Where do I get my outfits for the production number?
A- DDA will provide the outfits for the production number. They are for you to borrow and turn in after crowning.You will need to provide tan tights and black jazz shoes.
Bring all your dance shoes- you may need them for the production number
depending on your ability.
